Wellesley Island State Park
Minna Anthony Common Nature Center
Wellesley Island, Thousand Islands
This nature center is one of the largest nature centers in the state park system. It sits on a 600 acre peninsula in the middle of the St. Lawrence River.. The address is 44927 Cross Island Road, Fineview, NY.
We will hike several trails to make a loop including the Eel Bay, Narrows, South Bay, East and North Field Trails.
It's about 3.3 miles with an elevation gain of 242 ft.
After the hike we will head to the Wood Boat Brewery in Clayton located at 625 Mary Street, Clayton
https://www.woodboatbreweryny.com
After lunch you have a choice of going to the Antique Boat Museum ($13-$15 admission depending on age) just down the street
or the Thousand Islands Museum (no charge) nearby
or take a walk around Clayton checking out the shops.
We will spend about 90 minutes in Clayton after lunch. Hope to be back in Cortland between 5 - 5:30 pm.

Wednesday, June 11 at 10 am
We will meet in the parking area at the Nature Center located at 44927 Cross Island Rd. Fineview, NY.
When signing up below let me know where we will meet you, and if carpooling are you willing to be a driver.
The weather report shows that we should have a partly sunny, partly cloudy day, high temps in the high 60s, and winds about 8 mph.
The trails are relatively flat. It is June near the water so bring bug spray. About half of the loop trails border on the water so there should be great views plus there's a chance to see several glacial potholes.
We will carpool from the Riverside Plaza parking area across from P&C Fresh in Cortland, nearest to the river.
We will leave at 8:00 am.
Backpack, water, snack
Sunscreen, bug spray
Money for lunch and additional activities
Change of clothes/shoes if desired
